Meenakshi Nihalani is an active Visual Artist from India. She has received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts Sculpture from Sir J.J. School of Fine Arts, Mumbai. She recently exhibited her installations in Berlin, Germany. The Works are based on research representing the Agrarian Culture and social and psychological impact of British Colonialism on the Farmers emphasizing the Absurdism of politics and power on mankind. She has received the Scholarship Residency by Fundaziun Nairs in Switzerland (2019). She has also received a Scholarship exhibition by the Honorary Indian consulate in Stuttgart in 2018 and 2019. She has attended her Artist residency in Berlin, Netherlands, Zurich, Belgium, and India. She has also received the 2017 Lord Mayo Memorial Award for her sculpture during the Annual exhibition at Sir J.J School of Art. Her Practice involves sculptural forms and Textile Installations depicting ironical glimpses of situations in our society.
The artist currently works from Mumbai and Baroda, India.
Fellowship — Overview
The Art For Art Foundation (A4A) is pleased to announce an open call for its Fellowship Program, which aims to empower mid-career artists (ages 30-40 years) . This six-month fellowship, beginning in September 2024, provides a grant of INR 2 lakh to support the development of a significant artistic project. At the end of the fellowship period, the artist is given a platform to present their work to a broader audience, with an invitation to exhibit at the Champatree Art Gallery. This exhibition culminates the artist’s efforts and achievements during the fellowship and offers a valuable opportunity for public engagement and professional recognition.
For the Fellowship Program:
Duration: Six months (September 2024 – February 2025)
Grant: Total INR 2 lakh, with INR 1 lakh provided upfront and the remaining INR 1 lakh allocated as production costs after six months towards the final project.
Exhibition: Opportunity to exhibit at the Champatree Art Gallery at the fellowship’s conclusion.
We Are Seeking Artists Who:
– Are in the mid-stage of their career, aged 30-40.
– Demonstrate a commitment to their artistic practice and clearly envision their project.
– Are interested in engaging with communities and sharing their artistic journey.

– Portfolio: Submit 5-10 images of recent works or links to multimedia content.
